Sabeelak ("the app") is built so that your worship stays private. The app has no sign-in and no ads, and we do not run any server that stores your prayer log or recordings.
Your prayer log, adhkar and tasbih counts, bookmarks, khatmah and hifz progress, sadaqah and qada entries, and settings are saved only on your device. They are deleted when you uninstall the app.
If you choose "my location", your position is used on the device to calculate prayer times and the qibla. To fetch fasting times it is rounded to about 100 m and sent to islamicapi.com. It is not stored by us. You can choose a city instead and never share your location.
The microphone is used only when you ask for it: to check a hifz recitation, or to name the reciter and the ayah you are hearing. The recording is analysed on the device. It is not uploaded and it is not kept after the check finishes.
On Android, while that listening is in progress, the app runs a microphone foreground service and shows a notification, so the recording is not cut off if you leave the app. The service stops when the result is ready or you cancel. It does not start on its own and it does not keep the microphone open afterwards.
The camera is used only for the augmented-reality qibla view, so you can see the direction over your surroundings. The picture stays on the screen. It is not saved and it is not uploaded.
While a recitation is playing, Android may show a media notification so the audio can continue if you leave the app, and so you can pause it from the lock screen. That playback is downloaded Quran audio, not your microphone.
Recitations, tafsir, translations, duas and other content are downloaded from these services: api.alquran.cloud, api.quran.com, cdn.islamic.network, everyayah.com, mp3quran.net, hisnmuslim.com, islamicapi.com, cdn.aladhan.com, islamcan.com and huggingface.co. Like any website, they can see your IP address when a file is downloaded. Downloads are cached on the device.
If the app crashes or hits an error, a report is sent to Sentry (sentry.io): the error, a stack trace, the app version and the device type. It does not include your name, location, prayer log, microphone audio or anything you typed.
The app records which feature you open, plus app sessions, with Mixpanel (mixpanel.com). The event includes the feature name, app version, language and whether the build is a release. It does not include your name, location, prayer log, microphone audio or anything you typed. Mixpanel knows you by a random id stored on this device.
Reminders are scheduled locally on your device. Home-screen widgets read data the app saved on the device; nothing is sent anywhere.
The app does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone, including children.
If this policy changes, the new version will be posted on this page with a new date.

تُنزَّل التلاوات والتفاسير والترجمات والأدعية وغيرها من الخدمات التالية: api.alquran.cloud وapi.quran.com وcdn.islamic.network وeveryayah.com وmp3quran.net وhisnmuslim.com وislamicapi.com وcdn.aladhan.com وislamcan.com وhuggingface.co.
